The moment you realize you have life stresses which you alone cannot handle is the moment individual therapy becomes real for you. All therapy has at its root aiding individuals in their search for personal wellness. In individual therapy, we partner with you to help you identify those issues which fog up your vision for your life. Once those issues are identified, it is then that the real work of processing and progressing toward personal wellness begins. It is a freeing experience to come to understand those things in your life which have bound you and to work through them!
Your mind will always believe everything you tell it. Feed it hope. Feed it truth. Feed it with love.
Technically, individual counseling is a one on one opportunity to talk with a therapist about personal and intimate concerns which are binding individual growth. This is a time when you and your therapist partner together to formulate a therapy treatment plan, which simply put, is a list of your personal therapy goals. Typical sessions last 45-55 minutes where you learn healthy processing, gain insight, and work through issues which bind your daily peace and sense of wellness.
People come to individual therapy for many reasons: maybe you have had a major loss in your life, past trauma you never worked through. Possibly you have felt depressed for awhile and cannot make daily decisions. Sometimes you have anxiety which keeps you from enjoying life, or maybe you just seek to grow as a person and need a “guide on the side” to help you along the way.
